Alleged drug peddler with P1.1-M shabu falls in Pasay buy-bust ops

  MANILA, Philippines --- A 22-year-old man was arrested after he was caught with over P1.1-million worth of suspected crystal meth or shabu during a buy-bust operation in Pasay City on Wednesday morning, according to police. In a report, the Southern Police District (SPD) disclosed that suspect John James Tan was arrested along Captain Merong Street, corner of M. Acosta Street in Barangay 77, around 3 a.m. Police said the operation stemmed after they conducted a series of surveillance and monitoring on the suspect. Mild quake hits Southern Leyte

MANILA, Philippines --- A mild earthquake struck Southern Leyte early Wednesday morning, the state seismology bureau said. According to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs), the epicenter of the earthquake was located west of Tomas Oppus, Southern Leyte, and had a depth of focus of one kilometer.
