Bulk carrier BULK JAPAN interrupted her ballast voyage from Qinzhou China, Gulf of Tonkin, to Singapore, in the evening Jun 12, and turned to Da Nang, Vietnam. At around 1800 ICT Jun 12 Filipino crew member suffered critical injures in an accident, which took place in cargo hold during works. He sustained severe spine and breast injures, and crushed arm, with massive blood loss. MRCC Vietnam was contacted, at 1900 ICT Jun 12 SAR ship with medical team was sent to rendezvous BULK JAPAN. Seafarer was transferred on board of SAR ship by 2200 ICT, by 0100 ICT Jun 13 he was already in hospital. Condition of 46-year old seaman said to be critical, he’s in intensive care.
