MRCC Moscow report: NJORD ran aground at 0250 Moscow time May 17 in fair weather and good visibility conditions, having 626 containers on board. Attempts to refloat by own means failed. As of 0830 UTC May 17 the ship was still aground, with no tugs yet nearby.

May 17 0530 UTC: Container ship NJORD marked as aground since 0100 UTC May 17 in Gulf of Finland in position 60 03N ; 028 20E south of Primorsk port. The ship is en route from S-Petersburg to Rotterdam.
