1 injured in firearm incident days before New Year–PNP

MANILA, Philippines --- A person was injured in an illegal firearms discharge incident a few days before New Year's, the Philippine National Police said Tuesday. As of 6 a.m. Tuesday, the PNP reported seven cases of illegal firearms discharge, with five firearms confiscated. However, authorities have not recorded any casualties due to stray bullets. LTO issues show-cause order, suspends licenses in Mandaluyong SUV crash

  MANILA, Philippines --- The Land Transportation Office-National Capital Region (LTO-NCR) has issued a show-cause order against both the driver and the owner of a sports utility vehicle (SUV) involved in a road crash incident in Mandaluyong City. According to the LTO-NCR in a statement on Tuesday, the driver's licenses of both individuals have also been suspended for 90 days. A whiff of tears reduces male aggression, says study

Watching someone cry often evokes an emotional response -- but according to a new study published Thursday, human tears themselves contain a chemical signal that reduces brain activity linked to aggression. The research was carried out by the Weizmann Institute of Science, Israel, and appeared in PLOS Biology, a US science journal.
