Palace admits some ‘breaches’ in vaccine prioritization

MANILA, Philippines --- Malacaang on Thursday admitted there were some "breaches" on the vaccination protocols after two officials who are not on the government's priority list received the COVID-19 vaccine. Despite this, presidential spokesperson Harry Roque assured the government already "learned" from the lapses as he stressed the medical frontliners remain a top priority for the vaccines. MANILA, Philippines --- The number of new COVID-19 cases reported by the Department of Health (DOH) is steadily rising and has again breached the 2,000-mark, bringing the total active cases in the country to 37,226 as of Thursday. The DOH said it recorded an additional 2,452 COVID-19 cases. Meanwhile, another 266 recoveries were reported, bringing the number of recovered patients to 535,037. There were also 15 new fatalities, pushing the death toll to 12,404. The total number of coronavirus cases in the country is now at 584,667.
