Japan’s Universal Entertainment in talks to buy Dennis Uy’s stalled casino

MANILA -Davao-based businessman Dennis A. Uy has found a new white knight for his troubled casino company, PH Resorts Group (PHR). Japan's Universal Entertainment, operator of the Okada Manila integrated casino along Manila Bay, signed a "preliminary agreement" to acquire a majority stake in stalled Emerald Bay Resort project in Cebu from PH Resorts. This will be done through its Philippine unit, Tiger Resort Leisure and Entertainment Inc. (TRLEI).       MANILA, Philippines --- The Isabela Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (DRRMO) on Friday confirmed the successful retrieval of the remains of the pilot of a light plane that crashed in San Mariano. "Around 3:30 pm, the Sokol helicopter carrying the remains of the pilot landed at TOG2 (Tactical Operations Group 2 in Cauayan, Isabela," the Isabela DRRMO's incident management team said in an advisory. The pilot's body was found last Wednesday in the crash site of the Piper 32-type aircraft. The passenger of the ill-fated aircraft remains missing. "Yes the ball is in Tape's court now because the IPO has just ordered it [to recognize that TVJ is the owner of the trademarks].
