General cargo vessel PILSUM lost power in the afternoon Dec 31 in English Canal south of Weymouth, while en route from Antwerp to Truro, Cornwall, UK. Weymouth Lifeboat and tug from Poole were deployed to assist drifting ship in stormy weather conditions. Tow line was secured after several attempts, and PILSUM was towed to Poole Bay, where she was brought to anchor. As of 1400 UTC Jan 1, vessel was in the same position.
