The World Ocean Council’s sixth Sustainable Ocean Summit (SOS) will focus on increasing the sustainability of maritime industries, the role Asia’s passenger and trade shipping market plays in the global economy and much more when it takes place in Hong Kong this November.

To be held from 14-16 November, the event will be themed ‘Ocean Sustainable Development - Connecting Asia and the World’ and explore how organisations in Asia’s maritime industry can tackle critical challenges and play a bigger role in the global economy. There will be sessions and presentations on sustainable port development, shipbuilding for sustainability, women in ocean industries, ocean and climate, ocean investment and more.

The conference will be chaired by Kenneth Koo, group chairman and CEO of Tai Chong Cheang Steamship Co. (TCC).

“I am honoured to be the conference chair for the World Ocean Council’s 2018 Sustainable Ocean Summit, with its theme of ‘Ocean Sustainable Development – Connecting Asia and the World’,” said Koo. “The SOS brings together the international ocean business community to advance collaboration on corporate ocean responsibility and I encourage leadership companies from all ocean industries to attend.”
