General cargo ship AMUR-2507 loaded with wheat ran aground at around 0430 UTC Aug 8 on river Don in Shmat area, Azov, while sailing downstream en route from Rostov-on-Don to Samsun Turkey. As of 1300 UTC the ship was still aground, with two tugs at her side. No spill reported, no information on damages.

General cargo ship LADY NOLA collided with yacht in English Channel southeast of Dungeness early in the morning Aug 8, being en route from Riga in Latvia to Shoreham in West Sussex. The ship at the time of collision understood to be moving at low speed. Yacht’s mast got entangled with ship’s superstructure, two people on board were evacuated. Yacht was reportedly intact except mast, and taken to port after she was set free. LADY NOLA safely reached Shoreham.
