Fire erupted on board of Turkish general cargo ship KARADENIZ 5 shortly after midnight LT (UTC +3) Aug 15, when the ship was abeam of Krapets, Bulgaria, north of Varna, en route from Romania to Turkey. One crew said to die, the ship disabled and taken on tow to be towed to Varna. No other information available. Latest AIS timed 2330 UTC Aug 14, no signals since that time.
