General cargo ship HAO XIANG 19 in stormy weather ran aground on a reef off Luxi island, east of Wenzhou in Zhejiang province, China, East China sea, issuing distress signal at around 0300 Beijing time Sep 25. The ship loaded with steel, with 13 crew, was en route from Taizhou to Wenzhou. SAR ships were sent, meanwhile the ship developed heavy starboard list caused by hold flooding. 2 of the crew managed to abandon ship in life raft, the rest were trapped on board because all life boats and rafts were not accessible. By 0530 SAR rescue boats managed to take all 11 crew from the ship, later were rescued 2 crew from life raft. The ship reportedly, capsized.
