Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) headquarters in Pasay City is among 12 establishments recently issued with notice of violation for "polluting" Manila Bay, amid intensified efforts at rehabilitating the historic and busy bay.
Along with OWWA, Laguna Lake Development Authority (LLDA) has also issued the same notice of violation to the Main-Annex Building of the Cultural Center of the Philippines, also located in Pasay City in Metro Manila fronting the Manila Bay.
Super Radyo dzBB's Sam Nielsen reported Sunday that the LLDA has given the OWWA and the CCP 15 days to explain their wastewater and solid waste management system.
LLDA records show that 60 establishments around Manila Bay are suspected to be generating untreated wastewater directly draining into the bay. —LBG, GMA News
