French Navy frigate SURCOUF supervised an operation of intercepting and checking livestock carrier BRUNA, which was about to enter French territorial waters on Nov 17, en route from Aliaga Turkey to Sete France, Med. Initial information was confirmed after inspection, or so it is understood – there were extra, undeclared and not included in crew list, people on board. According to Master’s statement and crew list, there were 16 crew on board, when in fact there were 22 people of Syrian and Indian nationalities. The ship, reportedly operated by Syrian interests, was turned away from French waters, she sailed to Palma Mallorca and anchored there at around 0000 UTC Nov 20.
