Marina suspends MTI classes due to ECQ

The Maritime Industry Authority (Marina) has ordered the temporary suspension of face-to-face classes and practical assessments of all maritime training institutions (MTIs) in Metro Manila.
Marina Advisory 2021- 4e informed affected MTIs to reschedule their classes and assessments to a later date, because of the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) starting August 6 to August 20, 2021.
Upon lifting of the ECQ, MTIs can implement their post-ECQ operation plan before resuming operations.
The scheduled theoretical examinations at the Marina Central Office, Port Area, Manila starting August 06, 2021, were likewise temporarily suspended. All affected examinees scheduled from August 06-13, 2021, will be notified through SMS or email.
For seafarers who are scheduled from August 16-31, 2021, a new schedule of theoretical examination will be provided by the Examination and Assessment Division (EAD) of the STCW Office, and will also be informed via SMS or email, once the ECQ is lifted.
The conduct of practical evaluation of assessment centers (ACs) within the National Capital Region (NCR) and other similarly situated affected areas are suspended during the ECQ period.
The online and final evaluations for theoretical examination and practical assessment will continue, as scheduled since its digital and no personal appearance is needed at the MARINA Central Office.
Upon lifting of the ECQ, ACs are advised to reschedule all affected seafarers following their approved post -ECQ operation plan.
