General cargo ship TOYO MARU arrived at Banjarmasin, Kalimantan, Indonesia, on May 4, from Bayuquan China, with 6500 tons of fertilizers in bags. All cargo was seized and is now offloaded to be stored in a warehouse for detailed check and inspection. Allegedly, fertilizers don’t meet Indonesian National Standards and therefore, aren’t properly certified. Fertilizers were intended for palm plantations. Some bags are bearing Chinese stamps, some don’t. The 16 crew includes 7 Chinese, 4 Vietnamese and 5 Myanmar nationalities, they’re hardly to blame for unauthorized cargo, if that’s the case.
