AS the global economy emerges from the impact of the pandemic, the shipping industry has begun to experience a marked uptick in demand for qualified and competent seafarers preferably Filipino seafarers.

One company, LT Marine, which currently supplies officers and crew to some 300 owned and managed vessels of its principals, is upbeat as it looks forward to serving more oceangoing ships of various types in the coming days.

"We are excited to be working with more vessels such as bulk carriers, container ships, and tankers. We cannot wait to welcome more seafarers to the LT Marine family," says Chlint Gargaritano, growth and recruitment manager of LT Marine.

The company is a duly licensed manning agency authorized by the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration to engage in the business of ship crew manning for international vessels and recruitment of shipboard personnel and other related maritime activities.

With more than 20 years of experience in crewing, LT Marine has shifted to modern technology to gain an edge over other players in the manning business in winning over more seafarers to its fold.

The crewing company has digitalized its process of recruitment to make it a lot easier for seafarers to join the company.

"We have a simple online application: apply online anytime, anywhere in the Philippines in less than three minutes without flying to Metro Manila or submitting your documents in person," the LT Marine official said.

The company is offering seafarers well-paying jobs from reputable international shipping companies with a presence worldwide. LT Marine has extensive experience in serving respected names in the shipping industry, among them, Danish shipping conglomerate Maersk and Technomar of Athens, Greece.

Apart from competitive wages, there's plenty of room for promotions at LT Marine. "Grow your career with LT Marine. You can become a part of a global crewing organization with presence in three continents," Gargaritano tells would-be seafarers of LT Marine.

Prospective seafarers can expect more. LT Marine cares for the well-being of its growing number of seagoing personnel, covering them with medical benefits from one of the country's reliable health maintenance providers.

"Our crew is protected by HMO," the LT Marine official adds.

On the technical side, Gargaritano assures seafarer applicants that once they go onboard they will enjoy professional 24/7 support whenever they need assistance and wherever their vessels are. "You will be supported by our shore-based team," adds Gargaritano.

She adds, "We are a career development, focused team."

LT Marine's bullish outlook on the industry's future is fueling its aggressive recruitment to meet the burgeoning crewing needs of its principals that manage and operate a relatively young fleet with an average year of build in 2014 and with more than 15,000 total dwt.

With current license POEA-119-SB-121420-R-MLC, LT Marine holds office at Rm 103 Bel-Air Apartments, 1020 Roxas Boulevard, Ermita, Manila, 1000 Philippines.
