ILOILO – A former seafarer was shot to death by tricycle-riding gunmen in Barangay Botongon, Estancia town around 7:45 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 13.

The 50-year-old Zaldy Cabuyoc succumbed to six gunshot wounds.

Cabuyoc was outside his house near the public plaza when shot using a .45 pistol. The gunmen fled towards Javier Proper.

The victim, police said, just returned home two weeks ago after years of hiding.

Cabuyoc was charged with exploitation in 2013.

As of this writing, the Estancia police have yet to identify the suspects and the motive behind the shooting./PN
