THE Maritime Industry Authority (Marina) has partnered with the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) to integrate seafarer applications, such as Mismo and Marina OAS into the newly launched e-Gov Super App.

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. said, "This is what e-governance is about — to bring it all together to make it simple, available, and accessible." This strategic collaboration was unveiled during the kickoff ceremony of the National ICT Month at Malacañang on Friday, June 2.

To provide the public with a convenient one-stop shop, the e-Gov Super App acts as a comprehensive platform that aggregates multiple government applications from partner organizations.

The DICT's continuous initiatives to encourage automation and digitization inside government operations include this integration. It represents the first project or service that Marina has accessed since they signed their memorandum of understanding (MoU) on April 25.

This project is also in line with the Maritime Industry Development Plan (MIDP) 2028's broad goals, particularly the "Implementation of a Sustainable Maritime Innovation, Digitalization, Transformation and Knowledge Center (SMIDTKC)."

The MoU gives Marina the authority to streamline its operations through automation and digitization, cut down on paperwork, and provide real-time access to pertinent data. These actions are expected to help the country in its efforts to evolve into a digital nation while boosting its competitiveness in the maritime sector.

Sonia Malaluan, deputy administrator for planning at Marina, lauded the DICT's e-gov Super App project.
