WASHINGTON, April 21 (Reuters) – President Joe Biden announced on Thursday the United States will ban Russian-affiliated ships from American ports, joining Canada and European nationsin the latest step to pressure Russia over its invasion of Ukraine.

A crewman who was crushed to death while painting a ship a decade ago should have been rushed ashore by the coastguard, an inquiry has found.

Pjero Kurida, 29, from Croatia, died in hospital after a delay in getting him to the mainland. His injuries were “underestimated”, a sheriff has found, but were ultimately “unsurvivable”.
