In its weekly report covering the period 4-10 September, ReCAAP ISC informed of another attempted incident of armed robbery against a ship anchored at Muara Berau Anchorage, Samarinda, Indonesia, involving the Panamanian-flagged bulk carrier 'Red Lily'.

While at anchor and during cargo operations in the evening hours of 27 August, the duty crew stationed at the forecastle deck sighted two perpetrators attempted to board the ship through the anchor chain. He immediately notified the duty officer and the master.

The alarm was raised, and other crew made their way to the forward deck. Hearing the alerted crew approaching, the perpetrators aborted the attempt and escaped in their boat. The master reported the incident to the ship’s agent. Nothing was stolen and the crew was not injured.
