General cargo ship LI FUNG left Kaohsiung Taiwan early Dec 24 with cargo of sucrose, bound for Busan. The encountered problems, most probably weather related, since the beginning of the voyage. Early in the morning Dec 27 Taipei time Master of the ship contacted Taiwan MRCC and reported heavy starboard list, asking for shelter. Permission was granted, the ship limped to Keelung Port, north of Taiwan, and was met and assisted by port tugs. She was taken to port and berthed. Heavy starboard list, little doubt, was caused by cargo shift, no water ingress has been mentioned. As of 1400 Taipei time Dec 27, the ship was in the same position, berthed at Keelung.
