The aim of the wallet is to demonstrate seafarers are safe for on and off boarding, and port authorities and immigration authorities can see their full health status

Seafarers can download a free, web-based wallet to monitor and track their health status, which developers say mirrors UN protocols

THE company IDFlu already offers a commercial service to shipowners and managers but is making this part available for fre.

The wallet includes a “TrustPass” using a QR code that enables the real time reporting of crew members’ health and infection status, including antibody test results and a 14-day self-assess symptom tracker, in addition to other legally required documents.

The aim of the wallet is to demonstrate seafarers are safe for on and off boarding, with port authorities and immigration authorities able to see their full health status.

IDFlu asks questions from the International Maritime Organization’s recommended framework of protocols for ensuring safe ship crew changes and travel during the coronavirus pandemic, in addition to general health questions.

The data is stored in the International Transport Workers Index, which IDFlu says is the first independent industry database tracking crew during the pandemic.

All data is stored in line with privacy laws and is GDPR compliant.
