PALAWAN, Philippines — The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) on Saturday said the three crew members of a Marshall Islands–flagged bulk carrier who were found unconscious while the vessel was off Bolinao, Pangasinan have died.

The captain of MV Blue Cecil sought medical assistance from the PCG after the three crewmen were found unconscious Friday evening.

MV Blue Cecil was sailing 149 nautical miles northwest of Bolinao, Pangasinan, en route to Singapore when the incident took place.

At around 9:30 p.m., however, the captain informed the PCG Command Center that the unconscious crew members were declared dead by the vessels’s duty doctor.

The PCG said the BRP Malabrigo (MRRV-4402) can transport the cadavers to the Port of Manila.
