Marina to speed up processing of seafarer certificates through digitalization

SLOW and lengthy processing of documents and certificates has been a constant challenge for Filipino seafarers, especially those residing in distant provinces.

To improve services, Maritime Industry Authority (Marina) Administrator Sonia Malaluan declared specific solutions to documentary processing through automation and digitalization.

Malaluan said the agency will start the deployment of its Marina Blockchain-Enabled Automated Certification System (Marina Best) in all its regional offices.

Marina Best is an advanced web app for handling relevant applications.

All applications received will be processed online in real-time, accessible through web or mobile, using electronic certificates and licenses.
