The Philippines will host Seatrade Cruise Asia 2024, a prominent international event that is expected to boost the country's growing cruise tourism industry, the Department of Tourism (DOT) said.

The event, which will be held at the Shangri-La The Fort from Nov. 11 to 13 in Taguig City, is expected to draw over 350 delegates, including cruise line executives, itinerary planners, port agents, and tourism officials, all aiming to strengthen the Philippines' position as a premier cruise destination.

Seatrade Cruise Asia 2024 will run alongside Seatrade Maritime Crew Connect Global, a key event focused on marine crewing and seafarer welfare.

The DOT said that hosting the event highlights the Philippines’ commitment to establishing itself as a world-class cruise tourism hub.

“Seatrade Cruise Asia 2024 underscores the Philippines’ readiness and capability to lead in cruise tourism,” the department said.

“Our vibrant culture, exceptional hospitality, and breathtaking natural attractions make us an ideal destination for international cruise lines and travelers,” it added.

Delegates will engage in networking sessions, learning forums, and discussions, with a focus on sustainability and regional collaboration—critical factors for the sector’s growth.

The event will kick off with a welcome reception on Nov. 11, featuring Filipino cultural performances that showcase the nation’s rich heritage.

In a bid to further attract cruise operators, the Philippines has also introduced a Cruise Visa Waiver, easing travel for international cruise passengers.
