Fraud probe: Raid at Russia’s largest seafarer union sees phones and computers seized

Long search of the union’s Moscow offices left staff effectively isolated and prevented from communicating with the outside world

Russia’s main seafarers’ union said it was considering legal action after investigators searched its Moscow office for more than nine hours during a fraud probe.

Officials said the scale of the probes across several union offices appeared to be an attempt by authorities to investigate their international activities and contacts.
