Covid-19: Mattina crewman to be discharged from hospital

A crew member who tested positive for Covid-19 on the Mattina container ship is expected to be discharged from Southland Hospital on Monday.

In total, 16 crewmen on board the ship had tested positive with the Delta variant. Two were taken to Southland Hospital to be treated.

A seaman and his wife, a retired banker, were found dead in their residence at Hermelinda Homes Subdivision in Brgy. Mansilingan, Bacolod City at about 10:30 a.m. Thursday.

Station 7 chief, P/Capt. Elmer Bonilla, said the bodies of Rene and Jane Gargoles, both 67, were found by their nephew, Ryan Mark Pantanalago.
