Singapore jails ship captain for instructing crew to lie about events leading to seafarer’s death

Singapore has jailed the master of a chemical tanker for instructing his crew to lie about the events that led to a Vietnamese seafarer’s death.

Nguyen Duc Nghi, 50, was sentenced to 14 months in prison after pleading guilty to one count of obstruction of justice, according to a Straits Times report.
