One Myanmar seaman drowned yesterday, while seven others are missing after a Taiwanese-flagged cargo vessel sank off the northern part of Taiwan, news reports say.

Five other sailors, including four seamen were rescued in a pre-dawn accident that occurred Wednesday off the coast of China’s Zhejiang Province.

MSC has confirmed a successful pirate attack on the sub-Panamax container ship MSC Mandy off the coast of Cotonou, Benin.
