'No big ships': Protest over cruises returning to Venice

In March, Venice announced a ban on large vessels, including cruise ships and shipping containers, following concerns from residents over pollution, and underwater erosion of the city's foundations.

The ban will only come into effect once new terminals are built to allow for new routes around the city centre.

The cabin options for cruise ship guests are usually if not endless, then at least plentiful. For a pricey fee, guests can upgrade all the way to penthouses and ship-within-a-ship concepts onboard most major cruise lines.

A large cargo ship hit a tall overhead crane in a Taiwanese port on Thursday, sending it smashing into another crane and then into a pile of shipping containers.

One worker at the port was sent to a hospital for a cut on his arm.
